Buy second-hand Iveco tractor units: S-Way and Stralis with Cursor 11 (400-460 HP) and Cursor 13 (490-570 HP) engines. Iveco pioneered alternative fuels with the NP (Natural Power) LNG version reaching 1,600 km range. 12-speed HI-TRONIX automated transmission developed in-house. AT (Active Time) and AS (Active Space) cabs for long haul. Options with Intarder retarder, ADR and 4x2 or 6x2 configurations. We also stock older-generation Stralis Hi-Way and Hi-Road. Flexible financing and shipping across Europe.

Iveco tractorheads

Iveco, an Italian manufacturer based in Turin, is part of the Iveco Group (formerly CNH Industrial). The brand stands out for its commitment to alternative fuels, being the first European manufacturer to offer an LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) tractor unit for long-distance transport.

Iveco S-Way and Stralis

The S-Way (from 2019) succeeds the Stralis with Cursor 11 (11.1L, 400-460 HP) and Cursor 13 (12.9L, 490-570 HP) engines. The NP (Natural Power) LNG version offers ranges of up to 1,600 km and emission levels 95% lower than diesel for NOx. The 12-speed HI-TRONIX automated gearbox is Iveco's own development.

Iveco and natural gas

Iveco was the first European manufacturer to commit to LNG for long-distance transport. The Stralis NP (Natural Power), launched in 2016, proved that natural gas could be a viable diesel alternative on international routes. The 460 HP Cursor 13 NP engine runs on LNG or CNG and meets Euro 6 without needing a particulate filter or SCR AdBlue system. The European LNG station network has grown to over 600 stations, covering major transport corridors.

Why buy a used Iveco S-Way and who it suits

The Iveco S-Way is the premium tractor unit with the lowest entry price in the segment: a 2019-2021 S-Way 460 with 500,000-700,000 km costs between 33,000 and 48,000 €, clearly below the German and Swedish brands. It suits hauliers prioritising contained investment, domestic fleets and operators wanting to try natural gas (NP LNG version) to cut fuel costs and access low-emission zones. The Cursor 13 offers good torque for 40 tonnes. Coatrucks imports Iveco from Italy, France and Spain with verified history.

Cursor 13 maintenance and inspection points on a used Iveco

The Cursor 13 engine is robust and cheap to maintain, with parts among the most affordable in the premium segment. Watch points are the EGR system and the variable-geometry turbo around 600,000-700,000 km, and on LNG versions the condition of the cryogenic tank and valves. Before buying, connect Iveco EASY diagnostics, inspect the HI-TRONIX clutch and check the AdBlue history. Coatrucks delivers every Iveco with a documented inspection and a 6-month B2B mechanical warranty.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is a used Iveco S-Way worth it over a Scania or Volvo?+
The S-Way is the most affordable premium option: at the same age and mileage it usually costs 5,000-10,000 € less than an equivalent Scania or Volvo, and its parts are cheaper. The trade-off is slightly lower resale. For domestic fleets or hauliers prioritising contained investment and low maintenance cost, the S-Way is very competitive. At Coatrucks we help you compare real TCO for your operation.
  • Is it a good idea to buy a used Iveco LNG (Natural Power)?+
The Iveco NP LNG makes sense if you run fixed routes with gas stations along the way: fuel is cheaper than diesel and you access cities' low-emission zones. There are over 600 LNG stations in Europe. The downside is the still-limited network and the specific cryogenic tank maintenance. Before buying a used one it's wise to check the gas system condition; at Coatrucks we inspect it and advise you.
  • Is the Iveco Cursor 13 engine reliable at high mileage?+
The 12.9-litre Cursor 13 is a robust engine and among the cheapest to maintain in the premium segment. It exceeds one million kilometres with proper maintenance. Watch points are the EGR system and the variable-geometry turbo around 600,000-700,000 km. A unit with a clean Iveco EASY diagnosis and up-to-date AdBlue history is a safe buy. Every Iveco we deliver at Coatrucks passes a documented inspection.
  • What is the difference between the Iveco S-Way and the Stralis?+
The S-Way (from 2019) replaces the Stralis with a new, more aerodynamic cab, better connectivity and the optimised HI-TRONIX gearbox. The older-generation Stralis Hi-Way and Hi-Road share the Cursor engine but offer less comfort and technology. A well-kept Stralis is an economical option for those after the lowest price; the S-Way brings more comfort and better resale. We stock both generations.
  • What range does an Iveco S-Way NP LNG have?+
The Iveco S-Way NP (Natural Power) LNG reaches up to 1,600 km range on full tanks, enough for most long-distance international routes with planned refuelling. The 460 HP Cursor 13 NP engine meets Euro 6 without a particulate filter or AdBlue, reducing emissions-system maintenance. It is the option for fleets wanting to cut emissions and fuel cost on corridors with gas stations.
  • What is the Iveco service network like in Spain?+
Iveco has one of the most extensive service networks in Spain, with official workshops in every province and good parts availability for S-Way and Stralis at competitive prices. This, together with the lower cost of parts, makes the Iveco one of the cheapest to maintain. It makes maintaining units imported from Italy, France or Spain straightforward and without extra cost.
  • Can I import an Iveco S-Way with Coatrucks?+
Yes. We import Iveco from Italy, France and Spain, markets with plenty of well-kept S-Way and Stralis. We handle transport, reduced homologation in Spain (technical sheet with COC, ~148 € and 24-48 h) and registration fees (700-1,000 €). As an intra-EU transaction, VAT is 0% via VIES if your company is on the ROI register. Typical timeline: 7-15 days from purchase to registered.
