Volvo FH Aero 500 from 2023, a second-hand tractor unit designed for the most demanding long-distance haulage, arriving at Coatrucks with 463,158 kilometres on the clock and all the high-end technology from Volvo Trucks at the service of professional European transport. The heart of this tractor unit is the Volvo D13K engine, a six-cylinder in-line unit of 12,777 cc that delivers 500 horsepower and a torque output of 2,800 Nm, figures that guarantee outstanding pulling capacity on any route profile. It complies with Euro 6 regulations thanks to a combined SCR and DPF after-treatment system, which allows unrestricted circulation through the low-emission zones of the main European countries. The 64-litre AdBlue tank and total fuel capacity of 660 litres distributed across two tanks extend the operational range of the unit. The transmission is the Volvo I-Shift automated gearbox with 12 gears, a solution that reduces driver fatigue on extended journeys and optimises fuel consumption with each gear change. The axle configuration is 4x2 with air suspension on both axles, which provides smooth driving and protects both the load and the chassis during long working days. The tyres on the front axle are size 315/70R22.5, the standard dimension for long-distance tractor units. The cabin of this Volvo FH is of the long-distance high-roof type, with left-hand drive, designed to offer maximum comfort during the hours the driver spends at the wheel and during rest periods. The equipment includes stationary air conditioning, which allows the cabin temperature to be maintained at a suitable level without needing to keep the engine running, thereby reducing consumption and emissions during mandatory stops. In terms of active safety, the Volvo FH Aero 500 incorporates ABS/EBS and ESP, systems that improve vehicle stability and control in braking situations or loss of grip. On the exterior, the Aero version lives up to its name with a complete aerodynamic package consisting of roof spoiler, side spoilers and side skirts, elements that help reduce air resistance and therefore fuel consumption on motorways.
