The Renault T 480 from 2021 is a second-hand tractor unit designed for the most demanding long-distance haulage, with a 480 PS engine and just 5,286 operating hours that guarantee a still very extensive useful life ahead. Under the bonnet sits the Volvo DTI 13 engine, a six-cylinder in-line block with 12,800 cc displacement that delivers 480 PS of power. It complies with Euro 6 regulations through a combined SCR and DPF aftertreatment system, which allows unrestricted circulation through the low-emission zones of the main European countries. This tractor unit also features two fuel tanks with a total capacity of 1,250 litres and an AdBlue tank of 75 litres, designed to minimise stops en route and maximise range on long-distance journeys. The transmission is the Renault Optidriver automated gearbox with 12 gears, which combines the comfort of automatic shifting with the efficiency of intelligent ratio management. The axle configuration is 4x2, with an axle distance of 380 cm. The maximum authorised mass reaches 18,000 kg, with a kerb weight of 8,041 kg and a declared payload of 10,000 kg. The auxiliary braking integrates engine brake, retarder and the Optibrake system, a combination that provides outstanding deceleration capacity on prolonged descents and reduces wear on the service brakes. The cab is a medium long-distance type with two sleeping berths, oriented towards the driver on the left-hand side. The interior equipment is comprehensive: conventional air conditioning, stationary air conditioning and autonomous heating to guarantee driver rest with the engine switched off. The seats are heated, and the cab incorporates a sat-nav, refrigerator and LED lights. Adaptive cruise control, together with Lane Assist and collision alert, makes the Renault T 480 a tractor unit prepared for the longest working days with maximum comfort. In terms of active safety, this industrial vehicle is equipped with ABS/EBS and ESP as standard. The exterior is fitted with roof spoiler, side spoilers and visor, elements that contribute to improved aerodynamics and reduced fuel consumption on motorways.
