The Volvo FH 460 from 2020 is a second-hand tractor unit designed for the most demanding long-distance haulage, with a configuration and specification that make it a first-class working tool. With 560,000 kilometres on the odometer, this commercial vehicle arrives at our facilities from Spain, which guarantees a history of use under known conditions and facilitates verification of its background. Under the bonnet sits the Volvo D13K engine, a six-cylinder in-line unit of 12,800 cc that delivers 460 horsepower. It complies with Euro 6 regulations with a combined SCR and DPF aftertreatment system, which allows unrestricted circulation through low-emission zones throughout Europe. This engine is recognised in the sector for its balance between power and fuel consumption, and its large-displacement architecture makes it especially suitable for sustained pulling on long-haul routes. The transmission is automatic, with a ZF 12-speed gearbox, which optimises gear changes and reduces driver fatigue during extended shifts. The axle configuration is 4x2, with an axle distance of 380 cm. Braking combines engine brake and retarder, providing additional deceleration capacity that is essential on prolonged descents and when managing heavy loads. The active safety system includes ABS/EBS and ESP, reinforcing stability in any driving condition. The Globetrotter long-distance cab defines the comfort standard in this Volvo FH tractor unit. It features two beds, air conditioning, stationary AC and autonomous heating, which allows maintaining an appropriate temperature without needing to start the engine during rest periods. The seats are heated, and the cab incorporates a sat-nav, refrigerator and sunroof. The lighting is entirely LED. The fuel tank has a total capacity of 978 litres distributed across two tanks, which significantly extends range and reduces refuelling stops. In terms of active safety and driving assistance, the Volvo FH 460 is equipped with adaptive cruise control, Lane Assist and collision warning, a suite of ADAS systems that help reduce risk on long-distance journeys.
